Peppermint Balls

Yum!

INGREDIENTS

1/3 cup light corn syrup
3 teaspoons pure peppermint extract
8 oz chocolate especially made for dipping
1/4 cup butter, melted
3/4 pound powdered sugar

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In large mixing bowl thoroughly combine corn syrup and melted butter
  2. Add peppermint extract and blend
  3. Gradually, stir in powdered sugar until well blendfed and a soft "dough" forms
  4. Roll between hands into approximately 1/2-inch balls; place balls on waxed paper.
  5. Let the balls stand at least 3 hours, until set. Don't refrigerate!
  6. When the balls are set, melt the chocolate and coat the balls completely and place on waxed paper until the chocolate hardens.
  7. Store in tightly sealed container. 
Makes 65 to 70 candies.
